transfered from ARL-4 Adonis to ARL-23 Satyr in the Wangpoo
River, Shangai, China. Satyr played an active part in the China Revolution
in North China and Manchuria. I was discharged off the Satyr in Long
Beach, California on December 02,1946. While serving aboard the Satyr we
served ports in Japan, China and Manchuria. The hull was sandblasted in
Pearl Harbor, but I cannot remember the date. One of my duties aboard the
Satyr was LCVP coxswain and third loader for on the 40 cal.

Oh yes . . . I was on the Satyr, all right. The most miserable duty I had
during the 1409 days in which I was in the US Navy. Indeed, I hated the
Satyr and the time I was on board but . . . after 30+ years I still want

One of several divers on the Satyr,had some good times there and some bad
ones tooDCFN or DC3 Wilmette died/drowned while trying to salvage our dive
boat. He was not a seal or Army diver as has been put out.Idid not see his
name on the Wall but saw others. I retired as a W-4 on 1 April 1995 and

I need to find someone that remembers me!! I left the Satyr under a
hardship discharge afetr recieving emergency phone call from my Father-in-law,this
could have been between May and June of 1970 and I need to talk to
the radioman thatwho transmitted that message,also the name of the
Chaplain on board would be helpful,also anyone that may remember me or
anything about this PLEASE RESPOND I have been diagnosed with PTSD
by two VA Psycologists and need to verify that it is related to stress
while in Viet Nam.
